Noorzay Geotechnical Services is working with Helfrich-Associates, Inc. to provide recommendations for temporary excavation. The excavation is supposed to be 3 feet deeper and cut into the side bench another 4 to 5 feet. We ran direct shear testing on relatively undisturbed samples to see if the slope stability factor of safety would be adequate. It wasn't. Currently working on an economical solution to ensure the safety of the workers during excavation for the foundation work.
