2017-Current
In July 2017, I decided that I can serve my clients in a much more personal and efficient manner if I were to start my own firm and approach client interaction in a way that I thought was appropriate. I have developed a lot of experience working with the firms below and each one had its positives and negatives. With NoorzayGeo, I can provide what I perceived as positives to my clients while staying away from the negatives.

PROJECT ENGINEER, CHJ CONSULTANTS, A TERRACON COMPANY
2014 to 2017
Performed as project engineer for soils investigations. Duties included client communication, assignment of field investigation, assignment and review of laboratory testing, engineering analysis, preparation of the soils report and overall project management. Provided marketing assistance for project bidding and issued cost proposals for geotechnical investigation and material testing projects
PROJECT ENGINEER, TWINING, INC.
2012 to 2014
Performed as the project engineer for Twining’s San Bernardino Branch office. Duties included client communication, review of laboratory test results, review of daily field reports, and project management. Provided technical assistance and direction for field technicians. Technical advisor to the San Bernardino laboratory. Provided marketing assistance for project bidding and issue cost proposals for testing projects. Performed as the QA manager high profile interchanges located in the high desert. Attained DSA certification for the San Bernardino Laboratory.
STAFF ENGINEER, TETRA TECH, INC.
2011 to 2012
Performed as the staff engineer for multiple projects including a parking structure with a rammed aggregate pier foundation system, landfills, multi-story buildings, and parks. Managed the soils laboratory and performed characterization tests as needed. Performed manometer surveys and drafted the contour levels using Surfer. Performed soils investigations including sampling and logging. Prepared conventional soils reports and recommendations. Prepared the laboratory test procedure manual including calculation spreadsheets for inputting the data. Drafted boring logs using Boring GS or Excel. Performed moisture profiling for gas wells located at the San Timoteo Landfill in Redlands, CA. This included sampling of refuse up to 100 feet deep, obtaining moisture contents, then preparing a chart showing the moisture content profile of the bore hole. Performed BAT testing for in-situ permeability of slurry and clay seal layers at the Boulevards at South Bay in Carson, CA, which consisted of a commercial/residential development over a landfill. Performed as the project manager for the Billy Wright Landfill located in Los Baños, CA. Prepared the final CQA report upon completion of construction of the landfill cell. Managed the geotechnical CQA of the sound wall system of the Puente Hills Intermodal Facility. This included the monitoring and logging of about 2000 cast-in-drilled-hole piles up to 60 feet below ground surface.
PROJECT ENGINEER, KOURY GEOTECHNICAL SERVICES, INC.
2008 to 2011
Managed 3 soils laboratories located in Chino, Gardena, and San Diego and an estimating department consisting of 5 employees. Continuously calibrated equipment as part of the quality control process and coordinated efforts provided by the lab technicians. Researched for new equipment and tests, provided drafting services and managed projects such as West Los Angeles College - Second Access Road and T-Mobile Cell Sites located throughout Laguna Niguel, CA. Performed lateral and axial capacity analysis for the T-Mobile Cell Sites. Prepared soils reports and recommendations and the laboratory test procedure manual and estimate spreadsheet for the company.
